The draft law establishing rules concerning the establishment of a DNA database for criminal matters (Wet DNA databank in Strafzaken) and the draft law addressing further amendment of the Code of Criminal Procedure in connection with DNA testing in criminal cases (SB 1977 no. 94, as amended by S.B. 2012 no. 61) were dealt with in first round of the National Assembly. Both laws received broad support on June 17, 2014 and were adopted unanimously by 37 votes.
